Woman's Day 5050; ©1953; "Town Cottons Know No Season"; Suit-Dress: This scoop neckline dress can be made with set-in sleeves or sleeveless; diagonal tucks give skirt fullness without bulk. The short box jacket is slightly barrel shaped, with tapered side seams and back fullness caught in two button-trimmed pleats. Three-quarter sleeves have turned-back cuffs. We used one of the new cotton tweeds for the dress and a companion stripe for the jacket. Lining, if used, should be thin cotton or washable rayon. Finished center back length of dress from neck to lower edge, Size 14, 44 1/2". 2" hem allowed. Width at lower edge, Size 14, 72". 18 pieces
