Vogue8448b

Vogue 8448; ca. 1939; Negligee or House Coat. Floor length house-coat or negligee with gthered fullness at front shoulders. Lace banding is optional. Flared seven-gored skirt joins blouse on high shaped line. Loops and buttons at centre-front of skirt or slide fastener closing. Loose gathered-top sleeve in long or bracelet length or short gathered puff sleeve.

"A richly brocaded lame house-coat for your “dress up” moods. Proud shoulders with gathered-top sleeves top a flared, seven-gored skirt and a slide fastener zips up the front. The romantic-looking negligée originates from the same design. This version has a sheer lace top with little-girl puff sleeves and a low, narrow neck-line. The very full skirt falls in soft graceful folds. Choose silk crêpe for the skirt”, as stated in Vogue Pattern Book, October-November 1939
