Vogue American Designer 1896; ca. 1978; Edith Head; Misses' Dress, Tunic, Overskirt, Pants and Shawl. Straight, pullover dress, four inches or six inches below mid-knee or floor length or tunic three inches above knee, fitted through bodice, has narrow self tie shoulder straps and back zipper closing. Views B, C, D and E have self bias ruffle at upper edge. View E has side hemline slits. View A is for scalloped edge lace or eyelet only and has self ruffle at upper edge and optional lining. Overskirt, six inches below mid-knee or floor length with front and back gathered into waistband with extending tie ends (ties at center front) has bias self ruffle hemline. Overskirt will not meet at center front. Narrow, straight legged pants have elasticized waistline and back zipper closing. Single layer, semi-circular shawl has self bias ruffle or purchased lace trim.
