Vogue 1582 A

Vogue's Basic Design 1582; ca. 1980s; Loose-fitting dress, straight or flared, below mid-knee or below mid-calf, has dropped shoulders, shoulder pads, front band button closing, inset waistband, slant pockets and cap sleeves, short sleeves with shaped cuffs or long sleeves pleated into button cuffs. A: sleeve bands. A,B and C: front pleats. A and C: collar. Purchased scarf.

Suggested fabrics: Cotton Shirting, Lightweight Wool Crepe, Silk-like Broadcloth, Lightweight Gabardine and Chambray. Suitable for small checks for A, B, C. Unsuitable for obvious diagonals. Additional notions required: ½” covered raglan shoulder pads, five ¾” buttons, seam binding, snaps, hooks and eyes. Also two 5/8” buttons for C or E. The pattern has 21 pieces and 3 instruction sheets (plus the same again in French).
