Vogue Paris Original 1113; ©1950; Jacques Fath - One-Piece Dress, Gilet and Sleeveless Blouse. Slim skirt has inverted pleat at centre-back seam and joins bodice at waist-line. Inverted pleat at centre-back of bodice. Tuxedo collar. Three-quarter-length and short-length kimono sleeves with cuffs. Machine pleated gilet buttons below tied band collar. Sleeveless blouse with V-neck-line above tied bow.
Low revers are the Fath signature for this one-piece dress of heavy beige faille. The revers and the draped hipline give the front a jacket-like look. The neckline is filled in by a tucked, bow-tied gilet. There’s a sleeveless, bow-tied blouse to alternate with the gilet. Repeat the same dress in sheer wool crepe, too, with three-quarter length sleeves (from Vogue Pattern Book, October-November 1950)
