Vogue Paris Original Model 1051; ca. 1949; Schiaparelli - Suit and Blouse. Fitted jacket features double flap pockets and buttons below notched collar. Long two piece sleeves. The blouse is amusingly new with two separate sides, each having one sleeve. Small pleats release fullness in front and back, also at built up neckline. Diagonal closing. Long Kimono sleeves. Slim two-piece skirt with soft front draped fullness from pleats over the hips. Dart across back simulates a yoke line. “Original was in checked wool with grey jersey blouse. Draped skirt and two-way blouse under detailed, fitted jacket” (as stated in Vogue Pattern Book, Summer 1949)
