• Hi Vintage Patterns wiki contributors!

I am fairly new here and have noticed that when I add my shop as a vendor, sometimes I notice that the vendors listed above me (I always add my shop at the bottom of course) actually don't have the pattern for sale anymore, or the link is broken to their shop or item.

Please can you advise me what, if anything, can be done about this? I delete my own vendor links as and when my patterns sell, but we are all human and I am sure for sellers who have thousands of patterns for sale it is an unending task to remember to remove their vendor link from patterns as they sell. But if another vendor notices that the pattern is no longer for sale on someone else's shop, is it acceptable to remove that link? I am unsure of the ethics involved in that, which is why I am asking first.

Thank you! I love this site, and is a constant resource of information, and I love contributing patterns that haven't been listed here yet.

    • Hi,

Yes, if you are certain that the pattern is sold or no longer available, you may remove those expired links.

Sometimes, a site goes down temporarily, and you cannot make a connection (happens to etsy, too).  In that case - leave the link.  Better safe than sorry.

      Best regards,

    • Thank you Tarna, for this super useful reply and super fast response!

That's a really good point about broken links, so I will not touch those ones. If I can plainly see that the link leads to a pattern which now says sold, I will then remove the vendor link.
