Spadea N-1197; ©1964; Jo Copeland – Two Piece Dress. The overblouse of the two-piece costume has a narrow V cut-out to show-off the slip-stitched-in dickey that might be starched organdy, pique, faille or linen. Right beneath it and on the right side are two long darts that more than suggest shape without really hugging the figure. For further figure accent, she places her bustline darts high and coming right out of the armhole gussets, a trick that lifts and feminizes the bosom. Pin a red carnation on and you have the costume that will mark you as a fashion-know-it-all.
