Spadea 1184; ca. 1950s; Anne Fogarty - Misses' Dress.
This design is one of Anne Fogarty's latest versions of the princess, with the entire bodice-sleeve front cut in one piece with a continuing middle skirt gore. The sides of the bodice, engineered for flattering fit are gradually lengthened to a deeply set V in back. The skirt, except for that front panel, has four flared gores gathered onto the lowered bodice and calls for judicious use of flouncy, flirtatious petticoats.
Fabric: Originally in a tablecloth checked paper taffeta. Crowded flower prints, shantung, cottons.
