Simplicity 5018; ca. 1963; Misses' and Women's Surplice Blouse. In this draped blouse, the right front crosses over the left and both end in back in a buttoned belt. The blouse back is cut longer than the front to tuck in under the skirt; the front covers the skirt waistband but does not tuck in. An elastic stay holds the front waistline in place. V. 1 has 3/4 length sleeves with an elbow dart. V. 2 has short sleeves.

Suggested fabric types - both views: Cottons and blends; voile, challis, cotton satin. Silk, synthetics and blends; shantung, crepe, silk linen, jersey, satin. Wool crepe, jersey.
