Simplicity 3003; ©1949; Misses' Bolero & One-Piece Dress in Two Lengths: The bodice, styled with a sweetheart neckline, is cut in one with the shaped cap sleeves. Soft gathers fit the bodice to a wide, shaped midriff section. The dirndl skirt is cut in four gores and joins the bodice at the natural waistline. Darts at the lower edges fit the bolero jacket which has a jewel neckline and ¾ kimono sleeves. Bias fabric loops & buttons fasten in front. Style 1 dress has a self fabric corded belt. The longer length dress in Style 2 has a lace bodice. A self bow trims the left shoulder and a self or purchased fabric belt encircles the waist.
