Simplicity1797a

Simplicity 1797; ca. 1940s; MISSES’ AND WOMEN’S ONE-PIECE DRESS. The rounded yokes which shape the neckline are cut in one with the sleeves and release soft bodice gathers front and back. A simulated fly front descends to the waistline. The six-gored skirt flares gently and joins the bodice at the natural waistline under a self-fabric belt. In Style 1, bracelet sleeves and yokes introduce contrast. Style II is made with short sleeves and novelty pockets trim the skirt. Soutache braid is an effective trimming for yoke and pockets. Transfer design for braid included.
