The back-buttoning bodice is fitted with waistline darts and joins the gathered skirt at the natural waistline. Ruffling outlines the square yoke. The dress may have puffed sleeves with a ruffle effect at the lower edge or it may be sleeveless. Style I has a high round neckline. Style II has a square neckline and is worn with a sash.
