Hi, I'm glad you like this wiki and I hope you'll have some great time here sharing our common love for vintage patterns! All the best, Petite Main 16:45, February 6, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome!

On how Categories are not like Tags Edit

Hello,

Just a note on categories - they are not in any way comparable to tags on etsy. Most of them are established, they create a page with matching patterns and pages they lead to, they are capitalized, and we try to keep it factual and fad free.

Which means, hippie, mad men, etc. are not something we add. I have been removing the tag-like categories you added recently, and wanted to explain why, so we can both save some time.

Click on an existing category on a page, you will see what I mean.

No 1990s patterns Edit

Hi,

I just deleted your latest addition - it was a 1990s pattern. Please take a look at our About page. Vintage on this wiki is defined as 25 years old or older. While we currently dont' delete 1980s patterns of a later date - this means 1987 or older. No 1990s patterns at this time, please.

On a different note - please do not enter pattern names in All Caps.

Best regards, --tarna 06:45, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Please do not capitalize pattern titles Edit

Hello again,

To reiterate - Pattern titles are not capitalized. Please remember to enter them correctly.

Thanks, --tarna 20:50, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sorry about that. I was only capitalizing the ones that are capitalized on the patterns. I will remember not to do it next time.
  • Also.....got the message about the 1987 or older patterns.

Thanks so much,

Mary Wheeler

Vendor Link Rules Edit

Hi,

Vendor links must lead directly to a pattern listing, not a store front. Links not meeting those requirements will be removed (see our About page).

Best regards, --tarna (talk) 06:19, October 13, 2012 (UTC) (one of the admins)

Yes, I know that. I never link to my store front. Only to the patterns themselves.

Thanks,

Hi,

There was no objection to your removing an old link, just to adding a link that did not lead to an actual pattern listing, which you seem to have fixed.

Best regards,

Hi tarna, Just wanted to let you know that I've changed my shop name so I went and changed two of my current links to the new name Vintage Fashion Closet.

Thanks,

Mary
