McCall 86; ©1933; Ladies' and Misses' Dress and Cape with Embroidery Transfer.

“Though you watch your sports from the sidelines, you’ll be observed by clothes-conscious women if you wear a distinctive embroidered frock. The trimming on this smart model consists of bands that effectively accent important lines of the dress. It’s the simplest form of embroidery – just buttonholing, chain stitch and French knots – but the effect is stunning. Make the dress of wool crepe or any light weight woolen material, jersey, rough silk crepe or linen. The sleeves may be long or short, and a cunning brief cape completes the outfit. The embroidery may be effectively worked with Shetland floss, heavy Angora or six-strand cottons. Size 16, long sleeves, requires 3 ¾ yards of 39-inch wide material, ½ yard contrasting. Pattern explains every step of the work, and an embroidery transfer to exactly fit the dress is given”, as stated in McCall Designs Complete Catalog, January 1935
