This exquisite Madonna and Child picture is truly an achievement of the needle - something to be enjoyed and cherished by all who make it. The delicate charm of the embroidery is brought out by the use of film silk, on a background of soft sating (in selecting the sating, choose a good quality). An especially loverly background color is a very delicate flesh pink. Worked in simple stitches - outline, satin, running and single stitches - any embroiderer can carry out every detail to perfection. An antique gold frame, about 3/4 inch, is recommended.
