McCall 1428

McCall 1428; ©1948; Kaumagraph Transfer - Pennsylvania Dutch Designs in Cross-Stitch for Home Decoration. Pattern includes 1 bedspread design, 23 1/4" x 33"; 4 long motifs, 5 1/8" x 23"; 4 heart motifs, 5 1/2". The leaflet includes charts for placing the colors in the cross-stitch, directions for making bedspread, curtains, lunch cloth and picture. The crosses in the design are 7 to the inch, suitable for six-strand embroidery cotton.

The fanciful birds, flowers, heart shaped motifs and quaint figures repeated in this design are some of the most ornamental of the designs used by the early Pennsylvania Dutch settlers. Pennsylvania Dutch decor will go well in bedroom, dinette or kitchen. For a picture, cut the two figure from the bedspread design. Two color schemes are suggested, one makes full use of six colors. The other scheme features one color and black. You of course select the color that suits your room scheme.
