Vintage Sewing Patterns
Forums: Index > Help desk > Clarification on Sources/Vendor section

On the main page, it states: links to sellers who have particular patterns in stock / by linking to the pattern they have for sale when you use its image! On the special page section under: Disambiguation pages, it states: They should link to the appropriate topic instead.

That said, under the Sources/Vendors sections on the templates, is it mandatory to link directly to the specified pattern that is for sale, or can posters link to their shops that show other patterns and not the one posted on Vintage Sewing Patterns Wiki?

Thx. G

Hello G.,

The way it has been handled so far, the link should go directly to the page selling that specific pattern. You can link to your store in general by adding it to your user page.

I think the intent of this site is not necessarily as an advertising venue, but to provide information on each pattern available in the past (roughly pre-1980) and links to sources for the specific pattern on each page, as that is what the article refers to. In that spirit, size information is also irrelevant in the general pattern description, as each pattern was usually available in a range of sizes.

All that said, I am not an administrator, just a frequent and active user.

Tarna, Thank-you very much. Frequent and active users are great!

I've put the size in, on the ones that I've got for sale, as I would like to know the size before I click over to the salepage. That said, I will edit the pages after the item has sold.

I asked, not so that I could place my links willy-nilly!(insert smilie), because I've clicked links to purchase a specific pattern and the link just goes to a Store Site.

Thx. G
