Woman's World 5766; ca. 1936; A Few "Must-Haves" A blouse & skirt give you a good wardrobe nucleus on which to build other costumes. In fact both of the patterns above could be used in different materials for different occasions. The skirt for instance in a sheer wool & the blouse in crepe or satin gives you a "dressy" type. Now consider the same designs for sports with the skirt in tweed or novelty cotton & the blouse (Woman's World 5811) in linen or novelty cotton. Both are easy to make, consult the construction sketchs shown in the corner of the large drawing. the skirt is easy enough, isn't it? And the blouse is only a matter of a few straight seams. 5766 cuts in sizes 24, 26, 28 30, 32, 34 & 36 inches waist. size 28 requires 2 1/8 yards 65-inch material or 2.75 yards 39-inch material.

Illustration & description are from NEEDLE ARTS THE WOMAN'S WORLD BOOK OF NEEDLEWORK FOR 1936 - a catalog offering various needlework patterns & kits for knitting, embroidery, crochet, sewing, etc.
