A2898,1962

Advance 2898; ca. 1963; Chatty Cathy Wardrobe. Chatty Cathy will be the best-dressed doll in the clothes you will make, and Sew-Easy too! Tucked in the envelope are patterns for four different outfits. Each is printed in a separate tissue with its own step-by-step instruction chart. There is also a little sewing book which tells you, in simple words and drawings, the steps you take to make Chatty Cathy's clothes. It doesn't matter which outfit you make first - one is as easy as the other. Pin a tissue to the fabric and cut ... do what the little book and chart tell you ... and you're on your way. 1. Coat and Hat ... all day toppers made fro 5/8 yard of plain or fancy fabric 2. Rick-Rack Dress ... saucily trimmed with narrow and wide rick-rack and 3/4 yard ribbon sash. The dress requires 1/2 yard of pretty solid or daintily printed fabric. Bias tape. 3. Pajamas ... pretty as Chatty Cathy herself! Make them from 5/8 yard of fabric. Extras - 1/2 yard each lace edging, ribbon, flat elastic and 1/4 yard oval elastic. 4. Robe ... make it in a fabric to blend or contrast with the pajamas - 1/2 yard of soft, sheer fabric. Bow-tied with 3/4 yard ribbon, frilled with 1/2 yard lace ruffling. Bias tape.
