Mail Order 1895; ca late 1930s or early 1940s; Misses' Dress. Beautifully distinguished yet achieves its effect with a minimum of detailing--clusters of shirring on the sleeves and the bodice, three rows of shirring at the waistline on either side, which can be adjusted to exactly the slimness you want by means of the side belts, buckled in the back. You can make the slenderizing, narrow, deep V of the neckline plain, or finish it with narrow roll collar in white or pastel contrast. The front panel of the skirt is cut to a high point in the front, to belittle your midriff. Flat crepe, sheers and small-figured prints are pretty for this.
