Butterick7594

Butterick 7594; ca. 1937; Frock for Women and Misses, with Four-Gored Slightly Flared Skirt. Two Styles of Sleeves. Detachable Peplum. Scarf.

“The Newest Basic Dress. A basic dress is one with many lives. It is always ready to go out. This is one of them. For fall and winter it would be smartest in black, one of the warm russet browns or new blues – grey blue or purplish blue. Sometimes wear it with a sash knotted at the side, the neckline draped down with clips. On other days add a crisp white pique gilet, a scarf, a contrasting belt, a detachable peplum” (as stated in Butterick Fashion News, November 1937)
