Advance 1053; ca. 1933; WOMEN’S AND MISSES’ CAPE ENSEMBLE. A swanky model consisting of a frock and a separate cape. Vertical seaming marks the front and back of the frock with diagonal detail over the hips. There is a tricky closing to the frock which may button close to the neck or turn back in rever fashion. Slashed shoulder extensions are perforated for an armhole for the leg-o’-mutton sleeves provided in the pattern. Note the unusual detail of the smart neckline. Length of frock, size 16, 48 inches with a 2-inch hem; width about 1 ½ yards.
