Hi! I was just wondering how to get the patterns, if someone could help me out that would be nice!
We currently have over 130 pattern envelopes from used patterns that are not yet listed on the wiki. The contents of the envelopes have been removed. We don't have the time to enter them all on the wiki and are willing to send them to someone who would love to do that. Is anybody interested?
Please take down this post if not suitable for this chat.
So I recently joined this Wiki because the information on here is amazing, and I've been doing research on vintage sewing patterns. I recently bought about 155 vintage sewing patterns, and I've been looking them up on here. But I've noticed that many of patterns I look up are not on here. I would love to post information about the patterns, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I could get some help, that would be fabulous! Thanks in advance!
I notice there will be a specific circa year on some patterns where no year is stated on the pattern (such as, ca. 1964). Some will have a note that the pattern is in a specific pattern book but no link to a pattern book or image from the pattern book in the listing proving it. Documentation isn't required?
Interested in buying the Pollyanna quilt sweater pattern which I saw listed on this platform
Hello all, I have a pattern to add to the wiki that is the same number, and design as an existing one, but my copy has a different envelope and is from 1953 (see it here on etsy) and the current listed one (here) is from the 40's. Should I make a new page or add the alternative image to the existing page?
I have this pattern I recently got from a charity shop and it’s super cool it’s a tennis dress pattern with the full pattern name being Misses’ Tennis Dress and Briefs and I am trying to find out what year it is from and have no idea as there is no year on the packet or instructions and it’s nowhere on the internet. I feel like it’s probably from the 60’s based on how the dresses look and also that the edge of the logo left is like that on lots of 60’s patterns I have seen although I haven’t done full research on the logo yet. I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas.
I'm having trouble finding any info about these patterns. I live in New Zealand - perhaps it is a local company. There is a facing that someone has cut out of a newspaper dated 1951.
So my grandma has this box of patterns I like to look through a lot because I wanna make a bunch of the stuff she has there and there are different decades of these patterns. A select few of them however are completely unfindable on the internet and oh boy trust me I have searched for them and even in archives and wiki’s they don’t appear. I’m not great with this fandom website thing but i like coming to this wiki to learn about the old patterns I find in my grandma’s box or ones I hoarded myself from charity shops. I tried to share the pics before but the fandom website didn’t seem to like the multiple images I tried to show so for now I shall show off one I think is very special and old. It could be from the 50’s judging by the one on the wiki with the number closest to this one.
Hello all.
I am new to this wiki, and just now I added some patterns that I had for sale, but were not listed anywhere. Unfortunately, I did not notice that I had included quotation marks around the pattern when I listed it. Is there a way for me to edit the title (it looks as if the answer is no), and is this a big enough issue that I should delete the pages and start all over again? I think I did this on four pages:
https://vintagepatterns.fandom.com/wiki/%22Marian_Martin_4906%22
https://vintagepatterns.fandom.com/wiki/%22Anne_Adams_4764_B%22
https://vintagepatterns.fandom.com/wiki/%22Marian_Martin_9217_C%22
https://vintagepatterns.fandom.com/wiki/%22Anne_Adams_4890_C%22
Thank you in advance for any advice. I am a novice, so please go easy on me. *smile*
Can someone help me find this pattern on the wiki?
This wiki is pretty interesting to look at from time to time, it's pretty fun, and has given outfit drawing ideas. Anyways this probably the only post I'll ever make here but thanks for all inspo.
I have a half dozen back issues of The Workbasket that include ads for various mail order patterns available. I can see that some patterns from these magazines have been added with their ad photos -
Is that okay to do? I don't have the actual pattern, just the ad pages.
At least one (maybe more?) of these patterns are listed as "Mail Order xxxx" rather than "Workbasket xxxx" when they're listed in the database, but Workbasket is then listed as the source in the page's text. Which is the 'correct' way to list these?
An example of both the ad page and Mail Order rather than Workbasket: https://vintagepatterns.fandom.com/wiki/Mail_Order_4539_A
Thanks!
Im not sur if this is the right place to post this but i saw a lady wearing a dress like this and i just can't find how it's called, i wanna make it for myself
Hi! I am looking for any example of this pattern (no matter what size), as it is for research on my doctoral dissertation. I am writing about clothing for disability in the US from roughly 1950-1975, and this is an example of a design that the Bureau of Home Economics developed for "physically handicapped homemakers." Marian Martin then created the pattern and sold it as "sports separates" for all women. This image popped up on Google from Etsy, but it isn't connected to a listing anymore so I think it was sold quite some time ago. If anyone has any leads on this particular pattern, I would be so grateful!! Thank you!!
Its a sweet little pair of Bibbed Pants with Blouse. Size 36 or 38 would be perfect. But smaller size okay I will just alter the pattern.
I've been going through my vintage sewing patterns since I need to purge them for a move (is there a support forum here? LOL)
I can came across this one and can't remember where/how I got it. Has anyone seen vintage Chinese sewing patterns? If so, got any info on this one? I'm guessing it's from Hong Kong (due to the pricing on the front), and it's prolly from either late-60's or early-70's.
I don't think that I've seen any other Chinese sewing pattern in my life (vintage or otherwise). So any info on popular Chinese sewing patterns would be great too. I used Google translate on it and only came with something along the lines of "Really modern outfit paper pattern" :)
